Hallel prayer, Psalms 118:1-4, words by King David, music by Reb Yosil, Joe Stanley, Marcus Roland
There of times when we are depressed, when we feel that our problems overwhelm us and any solutions to them are out of our reach. We often enter a world of despair, we feel forlorn and without hope. The wisdoms of Chassidus teaches us that every situation is an ordeal (test) from God that will eventually strengthen us and bring His saving grace to the forefront of our minds. When that realization becomes actual, then the only response to the ordeal is Hodu LaHaShem Ki Tov, Ki L’Olam Chasdo – praise God for He is good, his loving kindness endures forever.
When my son Benji brought together this version of the Kosher Gravy Co., we needed to feel each other out musically. During this first encounter, Joe began a blues riff, Marcus put down the beat, and I immediately added these words to this improvisation. This is the result.

Praise God for He is good: His kindness is eternal.
Let Israel proclaim: His kindness is eternal.
Let Aaron’s house proclaim: His kindness is eternal.
Let the God fearing proclaim: His kindness is eternal.
